Victoria
Born in Limassol, Cyprus, Victoria began studying violin at the age of three under Professor Andreas Konstantinou, and made her début recital at the age of seven. Showing a precocious talent, she won numerous awards and prizes including, in 1999, a scholarship to study at the Purcell School of Music in the UK. During her time there she studied with Maciej Rakowsky and was showcased in numerous concerts given by the school.
In 2001, she enrolled at the Royal College of Music to study with professor Itzhak Rashkovsky and graduated with a BMus (Honours) in 2005 and a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Performance in 2007.
As well as being a Royal College of Music Scholar she also received many awards including the MBF Myra Hess award, the Kit and John Gander Award and the Joan Weller Award. In 2006 she won the Philip Crawshaw memorial prize at the ROSL competition and in 2008 she received an award at the Carl Flesh International Violin Competition for her performance at the semifinal.
Victoria has given performances in many countries including Belgium, Cyprus, Greece, Germany, Italy, Spain, Morocco and Uganda. She has performed as a soloist with several orchestras including the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, Oxford Philomusica, NBF orchestra and the Adhoc Humanitarians Orchestra to name a few. She regularly performs in the UK either as a soloist or a chamber musician.
Throughout her career she has made both solo and chamber appearances in prestigious venues such as London's Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall , St. Martin's-in-the-Fields, St James's Picaddily as well as Ayia Irini Istanbul. She has performed in many music festivals including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the UK, Commonwealth Resounds Arts in Africa and the Ledras Music Festival in Cyprus. She has also performed in the Pharos Trust Cyprus Artists series with her sister and duo partner Eleni Mavromoustaki.
Victoria enjoys a varied career and is also involved with many educational projects in London. She has worked extensively with Music Masters UK as well as the Royal Albert Halls educational ensemble "Alberts Band". Victoria went on to create her own teaching studio in South London.
She is also the founder of "CYPRUS MUSIS MAKERS", a non profit organisation wishing to contribute musically and artistically in Cyprus as well as Amaryllis Music Project in South London.
Victoria's upcoming engagements include solo performances as well as recitals with Eleni Mavromoustaki in the UK and Cyprus.
